Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 5 will be delayed from its original Feb. 27, 2018 release to Mar. 27, 2018. Also, The Crew 2 is now slated to launch in the first half of Ubisoft’s next fiscal year, sometime before Sept. 2018, rather than Mar. 16, 2018.
“For Far Cry 5, the extra time will allow the team at Ubisoft Montreal to make some additional improvements that will bring the best, most ambitious Far Cry experience in line with the team’s original vision,” Ubisoft said in a blog post. “We’re excited for fans to join the Resistance in Hope County, Montana against the Project at Eden’s Gate cult.”
Ubisoft also provided insight on the reasons behind The Crew 2’s delay. “Meanwhile, The Crew 2 development team at Ivory Tower will use the next several months to perform additional playtests, gather player feedback, and continue working towards delivering an ambitious open-world racing experience that meets the team’s and our players’ expectations.”
The developer will also be releasing a preview for Far Cry 5 tomorrow, Dec. 8 at 10pm PST on their UbiBlog website. Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2 will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
