Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 Set to Launch For Switch Next Month

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, the acclaimed remakes of the late 1990s skateboard games, were confirmed to be Switch-bound after having released for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms last year earlier this year. Today, though, we finally have confirmation of a firm release date for the games, which will be available for Nintendo Switch next month, June 25.

The two remade titles update the classics in a brand new engine that brings them up to speed with modern standards as well as adding new content. The iconic original soundtracks are just about the same, too, with the exception of one or two gems due to licensing issues.

Although Nintendo Switch won’t be able to muster quite the same levels of performance as its counterparts, the ability to play the beloved classics on the go in handheld mode for the very first time should make up for it. Here’s a glimpse of the action on Switch via the trailer from a couple months back:

Twinfinite previewed the original PS4/Xbox One release last year and said of it:

“There’s no denying that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 leans heavily into nostalgia. At the same time, the new customization options, the fresh coat of paint, the tighter controls, and general quality of life updates make this title feel like a fun 2020 game instead of a remake of two late 90s, early 2000s titles.”
