The Sims 4’s latest expansion is just around the corner and this time it’ll task players with restoring a once beautiful town to its former glory. As you’ll see in the new gameplay trailer, Eco Lifestyle is all about promoting clean, green living projects amongst your sims with a bunch of interesting infrastructure and community initiatives based around sustainability.
That includes, for example, a Recycler to turn unwanted furniture into resources for new projects, and using solar generators to harvest natural energy to power the town.
Armed with these tools, your sims will get to work in one of two new careers in the game. As a Civil Designer, you’ll be tasked with rebuilding the entire town in the mold of one that encourages sustainability. Or as an entrepreneur, you can go at alone profiting from Eco Inventions as a Fizzy Juicer, a furniture maker, or a candlemaker.
Once your neighbors have spied your successes and get on board with the idea, you can come together as communities with Neighborhood Action Plans to vote on things like funding Green Initiatives, supporting Self-Sufficiency, or encouraging Free Love.
There’s even a new insect farm to take advantage of, which serves as a source of bio-fuel for infrastructure or protein-laden healthy snacks for sims.
