Four years ago today, the good folks at Ready at Dawn and Sony Interactive Entertainment released The Order: 1886 for PS4.
Today, to celebrate its anniversary, they launched three videos showcasing and explaining the visual effects behind the game’s gorgeous graphics.
It’s interesting to say how the game’s visuals still hold up magnificently even against much younger games, and the technical wizardry that was used to make it happen.
Personally, while the reception for the game was mixed, I absolutely loved it. I marveled at its beautiful rendition of London, adored its atmosphere, and would most definitely like to see its awesome characters made a comeback.
While Ready at Dawn has since moved on to other games, including the innovative VR game Lone Echo, they have at times hinted to the possibility of a return of The Order.
You can check out all the videos below, and enjoy a really intriguing trip down the memory lane and into the fascinating complexities of visual technology.
The Order: 1886 is currently available exclusively for PS4.
If you’re unfamiliar with The Order: 1886, the game delved into a fictional version of Victorian London with amazing atmosphere and fantastic graphics, placing the players in the finely decorated boots of Galahad, a knight fighting to unravel the mysteries lurking within the city’s underbelly.
