the game awards

Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards will return once again for 2021, and so too will its live audience. Today, the show has today locked in the data of Thursday, Dec. 9 for the evening’s celebrations, also confirming that a live audience will be in attendance after the digital-only affair during COVID-19 restrictions last year.

The show’s website is already live, though there’s no word yet on what to expect in terms of new game and new game content announcements. You can expect Keighley to tease some of what’s to come during the build-up to the show as usual.

As a reminder of what we saw last year, The Last of Us Part II took Game of the Year, while new announcements included the Perfect Dark remake and a tease of a new Mass Effect game. You can recap the biggest moments in our wrap-up article here. The full list of award winners is available to browse here.
