This year is the 20th anniversary of Pokemon, and the Pokemon Company are bringing back all kinds of nostalgic gear for trainers new and old. In February, the first three Pokemon movies will be released on Blu-Ray for the first time.
The Pokemon anime has been ongoing for 18 seasons, but many fans have fond memories of the first feature-length films from the franchise. On Feb. 9, a steelbook containing the first three films on Blu-Ray will be released. Amazon is already accepting pre-orders for the box set, and has a preview of the cover art so you can determine where it will fit on your shelf.
For North Americans, this box set is the first opportunity you’ll have to own these movies on Blu-Ray. The climax of the film will surely make a whole new generation of fans bawl their eyes out now that it’s in crystal clear HD.
All three movies will also be released in HD on iTunes, Amazon Video and other streaming services next month.
