Developer Re-Logic has announced that 2D sandbox game Terraria has passed the 20m sales mark.
Terraria was released back in 2011, originally for PC; the game has grown considerably since, and has launched for nearly every platform under the sun. What’s even more impressive is that since version 1.3 launched for PC, 8.5 million of those copies sold in the last 18 months – a show of the momentum that it’s has picked up.
Having the game available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, Vita, PS4, 3DS, Wii U, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and the PC/Mac/Linux versions really helps when it comes to bulky sales, of course
Re-Logic has also kept the game rolling with a lot of new content since its launch. These updates have grown the game’s community and ensured that strong sales continue as new players jump on board.
Finally, the developer also hinted that the franchise has “so much life left in it”, saying, “We cannot wait to share those plans with you in the months and years to come.”
