So a lot’s been going on with Telltale Games lately. While the studio is busy with all sorts of projects that are known to be worked on, a new Twitter account was made recently for Telltale Publishing, a new publishing label for Telltale Games. The idea is that they’ll partner up with developers to publish other games to other platforms, bringing them to new audiences. The recent game of interest to deserve this treatment is none other than 7 Days to Die, made by indie developer The Fun Pimps.
7 Days to Die released back in late 2013 for PC, Mac, and Linux. A post-apocalyptic, zombie-survival-horror game, it presented a unique hybrid mix of genres, blending together RPG mechanics, crafting, character growth, and open-world gameplay. After a couple of cryptic photo tweets yesterday from Telltale Publishing, they have revealed today that they’ll be bringing the game to PS4 and Xbox One. The reveal was accompanied with a trailer:
It won’t just be a simple console port either. With the PS4/Xbox One versions, Telltale is adding additional features to the multiplayer, along with a new splitscreen multiplayer for couch play. Details about the multiplayer additions, as well as new DLC content, will be revealed in the near future. If you decide to pre-order the game for your console, you’ll receive 5 exclusive character skins based off of Telltale’s The Walking Dead, with Lee Everett and Michonne being mentioned.
You’ll be able to get your hands on the game sometime this June, and it will be released both via digital and retail. For the full details from Telltale themselves, check out their official blog post.
