Tasomachi is a 3D platformer that has long been on Twinfinite’s radar for its charming premise and gorgeous aesthetic, and today it once again shines in a new trailer marking the game’s launch on PC.
Solo developed by former art-director nocras, whose impressive resume includes the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Tasomachi tells the tale of Yukomo, a young pilot who crashes her airship on an unknown land. Players will control her as she double jumps, dashes, and airdrops through cherry blossom-covered towns and ancient temples to find the parts needed to repair her vessel.
You’ll even be completing tasks for the local cat-like Nezu Tribe by completing levels containing platforming challenges, as well as picking up valuable collectibles like coins, costumes, airship upgrades, and plot-essential paper lanterns known as Sources of Earth.
“After my experience creating high-quality environments in such big-budget games, I was so glad to have the chance to flex my creativity and see what I could create on my own,” said nocras in a press release sent to Twinfinite. “I have such a deep love for the collect-a-thon platformer genre from my youth, and I know I’m not alone in that. I made Tasomachi for those of you that feel the same and hope it brings you peace and joy.”
Tasomachi’s beautiful landscape is said to have been inspired by the art, culture, and geography of East Asia and late-90’s collect-a-thon platformers. It sure does look pretty, which is why the confirmation of a Photo Mode is such a boon!
