That’s right folks, the wait is over, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition launches tomorrow. Bandai Namco released two launch trailers showcasing the colorful cast coming together one last time before we get to play the JRPG ourselves.
After a series of trailers on Twitter that gave each of the game’s nine protagonists a moment in the spotlight, including Dragon wrangling Judith, here we see them as a collective whole. Joining the group this time is white knight Flynn as a permanent party member and new addition Patty, the gamblin’ gal pirate.
It’s not just characters that are new, there’s a whole laundry list of differences between the original Xbox 360 exclusive release in 2009 and the multi-platform Definitive Edition coming tomorrow.
The Japan-exclusive PS3 remake also launched in 2009, but never left, meaning this is the first time North American and European players are going to experience Vesperia is all it’s fully fleshed, Arte chaining glory.
Whilst one of the trailers is in Japanese, rest assured the game is fully voiced in English, including skits, but will also be available with Japanese audio and English subs for JRPG purists.
The launch trailer in English was just showcased during a livestream and showcases the English voice acting.
From scowling, quip-spitting swordsman Yuri, to flamboyant geezer Raven, to a freaking dog with a pipe, Tales of Vesperia is long-held as one of the best, most beloved Tales games among the fandom. Tomorrow, we’ll all get a chance to discover why.
