PC a vibrant platform, but nothing on RDR2.

During an earnings call yesterday, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick was coy about whether Red Dead Redemption 2 would be coming to PC.

Although the publisher stipulated that the PC is a “very important, very exciting platform”, it was not prepared to confirm whether the hotly anticipated Read Dead Redemption 2 would see a release outside of console versions. President Karl Slatoff suggested that how well a title performs on PC is entirely dependent on what sort of game it is. He noted that “some titles are actually heavily weighted to PC, for example, Civilization and XCOM, (but) some titles are less weighted to PC”. What this means in relation to Red Dead Redemption 2 is unclear.

The good news for PC gaming is that Take-Two insisted the “PC market is vibrant for us. It’s a great market. It’s a big market. It’s a core market”.

When asked directly about Red Dead Redemption 2, Zelnick said: “any updates about any of our titles will come from our labels”. Therefore, any future announcement will certainly come straight from Rockstar Games.

Rockstar’s evergreen and ever-popular smash hit Grand Theft Auto V initially released on console but was then later ported to PC.

For the time being, Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch on the PS4 and Xbox One only. There is no Nintendo Switch version in development.
