The upcoming colonial-fantasy RPG GreedFall received a release date announcement trailer today, revealing that the game will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC Sept. 10.
Set in a swashbuckling alternate 17th-century setting, GreedFall allows you to create a character and explore a recently discovered island. There will be other competing colonial factions, and the islands native inhabitants are, rightfully so, none too pleased to see these invaders arrive in their tall ships.
What sets GreedFall apart is the inclusion of fantastical creatures and magic. In the announcement trailer, we see the player character engaging enemies with swords and firearms, as well as with spells, which looks like a really cool mix.
If you were to imagine the grim world and tone of the Witcher series, the historical setting of Assassin’s Creed 3 and the character creation from Dragon Age or Mass Effect, then that should give you an idea of what GreedFall is all about.
The game is set to release on Sept. 10, which means we don’t have too much longer to wait. Check out the trailer below for yourself.
