The event went over the $3 million mark during the last segment of the marathon, an almost six-hour glitchless 100% run of the classic Super Nintendo RPG Chrono Trigger.

Summer Games Done Quick 2019 raised a record-breaking $3,034,709.12 from 50,953 donors, with some donations still happening after the event, for the Doctors Without Borders organization and is the only event in the group’s history to reach over $3 million.

It breaks the record of last year’s event at $2.1 million and Awesome Games Done Quick 2019, its sister event, held earlier this year with over $2.4 million.

Some of the highlights from the speedrunning marathon include the Link to the Past + Super Metroid Combo Randomizer, Tetris Effect, Super Mario Bros. 3 race, and a blindfolded run of Punch-Out!! for the Nintendo Wii.

The TASbot also makes a return by breaking Celeste, Mario Kart Wii, and the Nintendo Entertainment System version of Tetris. The entire archive of the event can be found on the group’s YouTube channel.

The next GDQ event will be Games Done Quick Express from Sept. 27-29 at TwitchCon in San Diego, CA, while the Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 will celebrate the organization’s 10th anniversary from Jan. 5-12 in Orlando, FL.
