While these three characters are playable, Capcom employee Harrison noted that “those characters shouldn’t be considered final or tournament ready,” and still need to be properly polished and balanced.

Along with announcing that players can now play as the six DLC characters, Capcom also announced that they’ll be releasing a free Street Fighter V Story Expansion DLC later this month. The story expansion is called “A Shadow’s Fall” and Capcom promises that it should be three to four hours long. “A Shadow’s Fall” will be five chapters and will depict the battle between Shadaloo and the World Warriors who are out to stop M.Bison from enveloping the world in darkness through the use of the seven “Black Moons.”

Capcom also announced that they will no longer be introducing a Street Fighter V in-game currency system. Instead, they will be using the PlayStation Store and Steam Store for real money purchases. Players will still be able to buy most in-game items with Fight Money, which players can now earn from clearing story mode. Clearing story mode will also unlock a higher difficulty setting for more Fight Money.

According to Capcom Unity, this is how items will be priced with real money and Fight Money in Street Fighter V:

  • New Characters: 100,000 Fight Money/  $  5.99 / € 5.99
  • Alternative Stages: 70, 000 Fight Money/ $  3.99 / € 3.99
  • Story Costumes: 40,000 Fight Money/ $1.99/ €1.99

The only thing that players won’t be able to buy with Fight Money are Premium costumes and they’ll cost $3.99/€3.99 each. On the plus side, every premium costume is on sale this month.
