SteamWorld Dig 2 Suffers Slight Delay, but It’s Also Coming to PC & PS4

Some good news, some bad.

Image & Form has announced that SteamWorld Dig 2, the sequel to the popular mining-based title of 2013, is coming to PC and PS4. Unfortunately, it also announced that the game won’t be meeting that vague summer release window they had initially set.

The news comes via a post over on the developer’s official site. First off, the good news. SteamWorld Dig 2 has been officially confirmed to be coming to both Steam and PS4. It’ll arrive on these platforms just a few days after the game has debuted on the Nintendo Switch console. Fear not, though, Switch owners, as Image & Form has reassured fans that this won’t delay the Nintendo Switch version. About that summer release date, though.

While the developer confirms that SteamWorld Dig 2 is “pretty much finished now,” they’re still going to take a few more months to get the game all polished up. As a result, fans will now be looking at a “late Summer/ early Fall 2017” release window for SteamWorld Dig 2. Apparently, a more specific release date and price will be on the way once the soon. What’s more, the developer also revealed that, while they’re not talking about 3DS and Vita versions of SteamWorld Dig 2 just yet, they “have not forgotten where we came from.” Certainly promising if you wanted to take your mining action on the go.
