Console fans of Stardew Valley rejoiced today after it was announced that the farm simulator game would be coming to consoles. While Nintendo fans have to wait a bit longer as the Stardew Valley port for the Wii U has been canceled. In June of this year, it was announced by series creator Eric Barone (Concerned Ape) that a Wii U port would be coming in the winter of this year to coincide with the other console releases.
The Wii U port has since been canceled, and instead the development of the port will be geared toward being released on the Nintendo Switch. Grape Ape has promised that there is going to be a Nintendo port of the game.
“I am really looking forward to the Switch, and I believe that the Switch’s unique capabilities could create some exciting opportunities for Stardew Valley. I do want to emphasize that I am absolutely committed to seeing Stardew Valley on Nintendo platforms, and I really do appreciate your support and understanding in this.”
