Square Enix and Bandai Namco Comment on Google Stadia Support as They Announce Their Games

Following the reveal of the pricing and initial games lineup for Google Stadia, developers are starting to share their views and offerings on the service. Among them are Bandai Namco and Square Enix.

Bandai Namco reached out with a press release announcing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 playable on Stadia.

We also got a statement by Bandai Namco Entertainment America Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Chris Gilbert, who defined Stadia an “exciting addition to the video game marketplace”

“Google’s Stadia platform will surely be an exciting addition to the video game marketplace; presenting cutting edge technology that will open players up to even more video game experiences. With a strong fanbase and an active community, DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 is a great selection as BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment’s first entry into the Stadia ecosystem with which we hope to reach a new audience and continue to achieve our goal to provide more fun for everyone.”

The announcement also mentioned that Bandai Namco “looks forward to new opportunities and future collaborations the platform will offer.”

Square Enix also sent its own press release, including the announcement that Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb RaiderShadow of the Tomb Raider, and Final Fantasy XV will be available on Stadia when it launches in November.

The announcement included a statement by Final Fantasy Brand Manager Shinji Hashimoto, who defines Final Fantasy XV as the “perfect adventure” to be enjoyed on Stadia.

“We’re pleased with the opportunity to bring the engaging characters and immersive world of FINAL FANTASY XV to even more players through the Stadia platform. The journey of Crown Prince Noctis is the perfect adventure for players to enjoy through Stadia.”

Crystal Dynamics Chief Technology Officer Gary Snethen also commented, calling Stadia an “exciting new platform.”

“We’re thrilled to bring the critically acclaimed Tomb Raider trilogy to Stadia. It’s an exciting new platform, and we’re always pleased when new audiences can discover Lara’s origin story.”

Last, but not least, Eidos-Montréal Chief Technology Officer Julien Bouvrais, shared his own comment, mentioning that the platform brings new opportunities for the studio’s R&D teams, who love a new challenge.

“Stadia brings new opportunities to our research and development teams, who always love a new challenge. Being part of the first round of games released on the platform allows us to break new ground, and shows our studio’s dedication to delivering trailblazing experiences for all players.”
