Nintendo has now officially unveiled that popular Wii U inky shooter, Splatoon, will be getting a sequel coming to the Switch later this year.
The news came as part of this evening’s Switch event, with a trailer confirming that the Inklings are back with plenty of inky, action fun.
There have been many changes to the ink world since the first time around. Weapons, characters, and worlds have evolved. New pistol-like weapons, called Splat-doolies, allow players to unload ink quickly, as well as be propelled in a chosen direction to help you avoid your opponents. Check out the trailer below.
Splatoon 2 can be played with the Joy Cons, Pro Controller, or with the Switch tablet. Pressing the X button will open the map, before another press of a button will allow players to quickly teleport to their friends or teammates.
Few other details have been confirmed for Splatoon 2 as of yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as and when they drop.
Splatoon 2 won’t be a launch title for the Switch. Instead, the game is due to release in Summer.
