Developer Thunder Lotus has shared a new gameplay teaser of its upcoming platformer/management game Spiritfarer, and it looks just as enchanting as when we first saw it during Microsoft’s E3 conference last year.

This latest sequence showcases Spiritfarer’s more dynamic platforming levels, which are contrasted with what is otherwise a fairly relaxing management game.

If you’ve not heard of the game before, Spiritfarer is described as “cozy management game about dying.” You play Stella, ferrymaster to the deceased, a Spiritfarer.

Players will be tasked with building a boat to explore the world, then befriend and care for spirits before finally releasing them into the afterlife. Farm, mine, fish, harvest, cook, and craft your way across mystical seas. Join the adventure as Daffodil the cat, in two-player cooperative play. Spend relaxing quality time with your spirit passengers, create lasting memories, and, ultimately, learn how to say goodbye to your cherished friends. What will you leave behind?

“It’s great to be able to showcase some of the great gameplay variety we’re building into Spiritfarer with this Teaser,” said Spiritfarer Creative Director Nicolas Guérin in a prepared statement. “The game’s development is coming along very smoothly, and our great community has been quite vocal about their anticipation. I look forward to fielding their questions during the AMA.”

The AMA Guérin is referring to will take place during the Steam Game Festival – Summer Edition, which the developer only announced today it would participate in. Those interested are encouraged to check Spiritfarer’s Steam page for upcoming details about the AMA event.

Spiritfarer will be released in 2020 on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
