Sonic Mania is heading to the Nintendo Switch according to its official Twitter page. The game joins a growing list of titles that have been silently announced for the console after the press conference was over.

The game was briefly spotted towards the end of the presentation with many other games, but there was no word of it at that moment. Unfortunately, the tweet did not mention any release date for the game, but the trailer does mention spring of 2017.
Sonic Mania was originally announced back in July of 2016, when SEGA threw a party for the 25th anniversary of the franchise. This announcement should serve as no surprise since another Sonic game had already been confirmed for the Switch when it was still the NX. Known only as Project Sonic 2017, that game hasn’t received any other updates since then.
It is not currently known if Sonic Mania will be heading to the Wii U, or if it will just be a Switch exclusive. The Nintendo Switch will be released on March 3 for the smooth price of $299.
