Yacht Club games has announced that Shovel Knight is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch, along with various other updates and editions coming to all versions of the game. All future content, including the upcoming campaign Specter of Torment, will also be available on the Switch. No release date has been given as of yet.

Yacht Club has also announced that all current versions of the game will turn into something called Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. This change will give players on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Linux, Mac, and Switch to purchase each campaign separately as standalone games. In addition the original game has been given a new name to match the subtitled names of the expansions, an it’s now called Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope.

As if that wasn’t enough there’s even more on the way for the game. A body swap mode is coming for the game’s campaign, that will bring body-swapped versions of all the main characters. You can see Shovel Knight and Shield Knight down below.

After many requests local two player co-op is also coming to the Shovel Knight campaign, on all consoles and PC. However the 3DS and Vita will not be getting this feature. Both of these new modes will be given as free updates.

The price of Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove will be increasing this Spring, but anyone that already owns the game will continue to get future updates and expansions. Meaning, you can purchase the game for its current price and get all future content. Yacht Club Games hopes that splitting the game up into standalone purchasable campaigns, will allow easier entry points for new players. There are also two other additions already announced for 2017, a King Knight campaign and four player battle mode.

Shovel Knight is currently available on Wii U, Xbox One, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, 3DS, Windows, Mac, and Linux.
