Senran Kagura Producer Reveals First Images of His New Project After Leaving Marvelous

Kenichiro Takaki

Today the news of Producer Kenichiro Takaki leaving Marvelous Entertainment (broken by Famitsu) have shaken the many fans of the Senran Kagura series, yet Takaki-san isn’t completely severing his ties with the former employer, and today’s issue of Weekly Famitsu included the first images of his next project.

The project will be multimedia, involving both a video game and an anime. It’s an independent title, but will still be published by Marvelous Entertainment, and Hanaharu Naruko will work on the character design. He is known for drawing the Kamichu! manga and handling the character design of the Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet anime.

The anime related to this project will be directed by Seikon no Qwaser and Maken-Ki! director Hiraku Kaneko.

The new title has been in development for a year and a half and has nothing to do with Senran Kagura. It still focuses on beautiful girls, but their clothes won’t drop this time around.

Incidentally, Takaki-san will continue to work on the Senran Kagura series, and you’ll be able to read a lot more details as soon as I finish to translate his long interview on Famitsu. It’s going to take a bit.

This is likely the new game that Takaki-san teased at the end of last year, and that he planned to announce in 2019.
