It seems like Square Enix is considering bringing the Secret of Mana remake to the Nintendo Switch after all. In a recent interview with USgamer, game producer Masaru Oyamada spoke up about his thoughts on a possible Switch port.
“To kind of give background in terms of when the project started, it was about two years ago, and the Switch hadn’t been announced,” he stated. “Once we had announced this particular remake title, we were very surprised to see the amount of demand and feedback we received for a potential Switch version.”
Despite his interest, however, this doesn’t point to an official confirmation of a port. Still, their enthusiasm for a Nintendo Switch version seems like a good sign for those who have been asking for one.
Similarly, Oyamada also mentioned how the company has heard the demand for a Seiken Densetsu Collection localization, which is a compilation of the first three games. He claimed that their main focus right now is the Secret of Mana remake, although a localized collection is something they want to “achieve,” but currently have no plans for it.
The Secret of Mana remake is slated to release this Feb. 15 on the PC, PS4, and PS Vita.
