Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was released in late January and has received acclaim from both gamers and critics alike for its intensely creepy atmosphere and adrenaline inducing gameplay. Grand Theft Auto V is in second, pretty impressive for a game originally released in 2013, FIFA 17 is in third, Hitman is in fourth, and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is bringing up the rear in fifth. The top 20 are as follows:

  1. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
  2. Grand Theft Auto V
  3. FIFA 17
  4. Hitman
  5. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  6. Rocket League
  7. Battlefield 1
  8. Final Fantasy XV
  9. WWE 2K17
  10. Mafia III
  11. Overwatch
  12. Watch Dogs 2
  13. Minecraft: Xbox Edition
  14. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
  15. Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
  16. Pokemon Sun
  17. Steep
  18. Titanfall 2

It looks like gamers are currently hooked on getting frightened with Resident Evil 7, but will it be able to stay at the top for a third week running? This week will see the release of the hotly anticipated Nioh, which has been receiving strong reviews so far. Will that be enough to knock Resident Evil from the top spot?
