Ubisoft’s critically acclaimed platform Rayman Legends launches on the Nintendo Switch on Sept. 12, but players won’t have to wait that long for a taste of the action. A demo for Rayman Legends Definitive Edition is available on the Switch’s eShop starting right now.

The demo allows you to play through three of the game’s 100+ stages. The first two levels, Teensies Trouble and Toad Story, showcase the game’s basic mechanics. Everything players expect from Rayman Legends, colorful visuals, unique audio, and wacky enemies, is here in full. The final stage, Castle Rock, cranks up the challenge a bit with one of the series’ signature high speed rhythm stages. Rayman darts through an enemy castle as Ram Jam’s Black Betty plays, the emphasized beats in the song signaling when to attack or jump.
The soccer-like Kung Foot mini game and a Murphy’s Touch stage are available as well. Rayman’s friends Globox, Barbara, and Grand Minimus are all available, as are re-skins for each character. There’s a lot of content to experience here, so players on the fence will get a good feel for the game before deciding on a purchase.
Rayman Legends originally launched on August 29th, 2013. It was met with universal praise from both critics and fans, and is one of the best platformers of this generation.
Rayman Legends Definitive Edition will cost $39.99 and launches exclusively on the Nintendo Switch Sept. 12.
