It tells the story of the Rage universe after an “asteroid” hit, with alliances formed and territories conquered. An enemy is shot out of a cannon and then obliterated with a shotgun There are tons of visceral moments in combat, with a wide open world showcased in between “big f***king guns,” as the trailer promises. There’s a lot more in store for players hungry for a larger open world and more varied ways to take on your enemies in this sequel, however. Speaking frankly, it looks like a much more improved game over what we saw so long ago when it debuted on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

There’s a lot more vehicular combat, visceral shooting, and a range of different enemies to keep in your sights as you zip around the wasteland, but most importantly, things don’t seem nearly as gray and brown in this vision of Rage. That’s definitely a good thing.

Rage 2 is targeting a Spring 2019 release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. That’s still a ways off, unfortunately, but we’ll be seeing more of the game on Sunday, June 10 at 6:30 PM PST, as it’s scheduled to show up during Bethesda’s #BE3 showcase with another gameplay reveal and more.
