The screenshots showcase the real-world setting in which part of the game is set (the rest is within the glitched virtual reality MMORPG World’s Odyssey). The real-world portion of the game basically works like a visual novel with investigation features.

Here is the description of a few characters that we’ll meet.

  • Sumika Tokiwa – A coworker of Arata and Shina’s who works as a programmer on a project separate from World’s Odyssey. As soon as she discovers that Shina, whom she considered to be a sister, was stuck inside of W.O.D., she teams up with Arata to extract her.
  • Natsuo Munakata – A former employee of Aggle, Inc. who left to begin his own business. While at Aggle, he worked as an account manager, overseeing Enigma Games’ licensing and development with the Alice Engine.
  • Rin Asukaze – Head secretary to the CEO of Enigma Games. Whenever Arata has trouble, she often serves as a guide to illuminate the path ahead of him.
  • Lydia Nolan – A foreigner who works as a character designer for Enigma Games. She prides herself on being an otaku, flaunting her decked-out itabag and collection of figurines at her desk.

On top of that, we learn that pre-orders will launch on Jan. 15 on the North American PlayStation Store. The Deluxe Bundle will also include the season pass with all the DLC for $74.99. PlayStation Plus users will be able to take advantage of a 15% discount on the bundle and early access to the Summer Swimsuit DLC.

If you don’t want the bundle, you’ll be able to grab the season pass separately for $19.99 ($14.99 for PlayStation Plus users).

Death end re; Quest has already been released in Japan and will come to North America on Feb. 19, 2019, and in Europe on Feb. 22. If you want to see more, you can also enjoy a recent trailer.
