If you pre-ordered your copy of Mortal Kombat 11, you will be one of the lucky few who can participate in the game’s closed beta test (and play as Shao Kahn when the game releases). However, you probably want to know when the test will start to ensure you can practice your fatalities as much as possible.
Since the Mortal Kombat 11 beta test will be worldwide, every participant can technically start at the same time. However, because of time zones, some players will begin earlier than others. Gamers in the Americas can start bright and early on Wednesday, March 27th at 8 AM PST, and they can play until midnight on Sunday, March 31st/Monday, April 1st.
UK gamers, on the other hand, have to wait a little longer from their perspective, as they can’t play until Wednesday, March 27th at 3 PM GMT. However, their beta test will last until Monday, April 1st at 8 AM GMT. European and Middle Eastern gamers, meanwhile, need to wait even longer until Wednesday, March 27th at 4 PM CET, and they can play until Monday, April 1st at 9 AM CET.
Asia and Oceania players, however, get the short end of the stick. Even though the beta test lasts the same amount of time for everyone, Asian and Oceanian gamers can’t participate until Thursday, March 28th at 2 AM AEDT. Moreover, their beta test will end on Monday, April 1st at 6 PM AEDT.

While some could argue the beta test’s schedule benefits some gamers more than others, the beta will still let players around the world test their might against fellow kombatants. However, even though Mortal Kombat 11 will release on multiple consoles, cross-play won’t be available at launch (if at all), so Xbox One gamers shouldn’t expect to fight Switch owners during the beta.
Mortal Kombat 11 will release April 23rd on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
