Pokemon GO’s nest migrations feature, which shifts the real-world spawn points of Pokemon in the app has finally confirmed to be a real thing by Niantic.
Wannabe Trainers may have noticed the app sending a push notification alerting them of new Pokemon in the area. The push notification reads: “Different Pokemon may be appearing in parks around you. It’s a great time to explore your local parks!”
While the nest migration has long been a thing, this is the first time that Niantic has opted to raise awareness of the feature with its player base. The nest migrations take place at 3:00 AM EST every other Thursday, the next is scheduled to take place on July 26.
If you’re interested in keeping up with when nest migrations take place in Pokemon GO, you can check out the unofficial Nest Migration Twitter account, or use the Global Nest Atlas to discover new nest locations nearby.
Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android devices.
