The gameplay was showcased during a livestream on YouTube.

We get to see battle gameplay and traversal. While the gameplay is mainly action-based, SP management is still very important, retaining the flavor of the Persona series.

We also get to briefly see the new character, and e learn that her name is Sophia.

The “Show Time” co-op attacks introduced in Persona 5 Royal are also included.

While the smooth action appears different, the stylish menus and UI and the overall visuals look awesome, and this definitely seems to be a proper and worthy sequel for Persona 5.

Later in the livestream, Atlus also provided an introduction to the cast (likely because Switch players may not be familiar with them). Funnily, they used footage from the recently-released Persona 5 Royal for that purpose.

After that, a new trailer was showcased, with Morgana herself introducing the story of the game and showing more footage.

Another new character is named Zenkichi Hasegawa, and he appears to be an antagonist.

We then get to see even more gameplay showcasing more characters in action.

More precisely, we see Sophie, Skull, and Panther. We even see a boss battle against Archangel. The Baton Touch mechanic also makes a comeback.

Three additional videos were also released after the stream.

Lastly, we learn that a trailer introducing Joker will be released tomorrow, while Morgana’s feature video series that we have seen for Persona 5 Royal will return for Scramble as well.

If you want to see more, you can enjoy the trailer from a few days ago, a few TV commercials focusing on the various locations of the game, and the first screenshots alongside story and gameplay details.

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers was originally codenamed simply “P5S,” and it was officially announced back in April.

Recently, we also saw a trailer that clued us in to the fact that the Phantom Thieves will travel around Japan in the game, as opposed to the original Persona 5, which is set exclusively in Tokyo.

The game is coming for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on February 20, 2020, and it’s developed by the Musou masters at Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force.
