PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has become one of the most popular games of the year and has become a favorite among streamers. The game sees 100 players stranded on an island as they must fight to be the last man/woman standing in a Battle Royale style game where players must do whatever it takes to survive.
The game features a number of cosmetic items players can buy with real cash in order to make their character more stylish. Most items cost a few bucks but one rather trendy bandana is currently being sold for over $1,000. Buying a real bandana for that price might seem crazy enough, but some players are spending this sort of cash on a virtual bandana for their character.
A user on Reddit spotted the overpriced garment. It seems the item was originally part of a pre-order crate that’s no longer available. AS the item has become rarer and rarer, the price players are willing to pay for it has slowly but surely risen. Last Summer one player purchased one for $200, then last month one sold for $700, and now one customer has bought one for $1,015.
