Overwatch’s first season of Competitive Mode is drawing to a close and with it comes a healthy amount of rewards. One of the main complaints that a lot of players had early on was the dreadfully slow rate that you can earn Competitive Points (CPs). The only way to acquire this elusive currency was playing the Competitive Mode and winning a lot of matches.
This came off as a needless grind, especially given your earnings are based off not the amount of matches you played or how well you performed, but the victories alone. The only thing you can spend these credits on are golden skins for a certain character’s weapons. However, the problem is that each of these golden skins cost 300 CPs a piece, which means you’d need 300 wins to purchase one. Thankfully Blizzard has announced that you will have a chance to earn a lot of points based on how high you were able to get your individual Skill Ranking (SR).
On top of this, any player that has completed the 10 placement matches will earn a unique Overwatch spray and player icon. If you are one of the few that made it into the top 500, you will also acquire a specialized spray that has actual motion to it. Below is the full list of end of season rewards along with the corresponding SR needed for them.
- SR 0-39: 10 CPs
- SR 40-45: 20 CPs
- SR 46-49: 40 CPs
- SR 50-52: 60 CPs
- SR 53-55: 80 CPs
- SR 56-59: 120 CPs
- SR 60-64: 200 CPs
- SR 65+: 300 CPs
It’s important to note that you only need to reach these ranks to obtain the loot not hold them for the entire season. If you reach level 65 but end the season in the mid-50s, you will still receive the reward for hitting level 65.
Overwatch’s Season 1 is scheduled to end August 18th at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Season 2 is set to begin on September 6th, but this is still subject to change.
