D3 Publisher’s Onechanbara Origin was released for PS4 back in December, but it was only in Japanese. Luckily, this will soon change.
Recently-founded Tokyo-based publisher Cloud Leopard Entertainment announced during a livestream that it will launch the game in Summer 2020 with both subtitles and voice acting in Japanese, English, Chinese (traditional and simplified for subtitles), and Korean.
While the announcement was made for the Asian market, this means that English-speaking fans will finally be able to enjoy the game in their own language by importing it.
At the moment, we don’t know if Cloud Leopard, which does have global publishing ambitions stated in their website intends to facilitate a worldwide launch of the game as well.
Incidentally, they also picked up publishing for the gorgeous Wings of Darkness by Production Exabilities.
We reached out to both Cloud Leopard and D3 Publisher to inquire about a possible western release, but for now, at least we know that Onechanbara Origin will be released in English, and that’s great news.
If you’re unfamiliar with Onechanbara Origins, it’s a remake for PS4 of the first two Onechanbara games.
You can enjoy the latest trailer, a look at the game’s DLC, the previous batch of screenshots and trailer, another video and gallery, the reveal of the box art, the first gameplay, the previous gallery of images, another recent batch, another group of images and the first trailer and more from all the way back in February 2019.
