Those who bought an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, 1070, or a Notebook are granted a free copy of Gears of War 4, allowing users to play the game both on Windows 10 PC and Xbox One through the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative.
While it’s nice to receive a free game, the Gears of War 4 promotional codes sadly don’t seem to work all too well. Upon activation, the buyer is sent a mail stating the activation of the product was successful on the account in question, meaning one should be able to find Gears of War 4 somewhere the library through the Xbox App on Windows 10. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
Many users can’t seem to find their copy of Gears of War 4 anywhere on their Microsoft account, leaving eager players frustrated, chasing forums and leaving support tickets regarding the issue.
The promotional code does seem to work for the Xbox One version, however. I have personally experienced this issue, bothering both NVIDIA and Microsoft live chat support for hours on end to no avail.
All one can do is leave a message on the Xbox forums and patiently wait for a reply to play the game on Windows 10 PC, or fire up the Xbox One console and install the game from there. Still, seeing how the game is shipped with a high-end graphics card, it’d be nice to witness the beauty of Gears 4 on a monter of a PC.
Gears of War 4 is now available on Xbox One and PC.
