According to Naugty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann, the company has nothing to do with the upcoming Uncharted movie.
No one at Naughty Dog has read the script. No idea what the movie is about let alone its tone. https://t.co/lc64Pevqyk

When pleaded at by a follower to ensure the Uncharted movie maintains the series’ lighthearted action-adventure tone, Druckmann set the record straight.
“No one at Naughty Dog has read the script. No idea what the movie is about let alone its tone,” he said. Well, that’s pretty definitive. By the sound of this, the studio was not even consulted regarding the project.
Last month, we learned the movie’s script had been finished by way of writer Joe Carnahan’s Instagram. “Done and dusted. Now the REAL work begins. If there’s a more monstrously cool action script in Hollywood right now, I wanna read it, ‘cuz this thing is a BEAST.” Carnahan is previously known for his writing on films like The Grey, The A-Team, and Smokin’ Aces.
Back in October, we also learned that Shawn Levy, one of the directors behind Netflix’s Stranger Things and producer on last year’s Arrival, will be directing the Uncharted adaptation.
This seems like a pretty good crew to be heading up yet another video game movie, but time will tell if the cycle of will remain unbroken.
