Naughty Dog has announced via Twitter that during The Game Awards this upcoming Thursday, The Last of Us Part II will not be shown off in any capacity.
Here’s the full statement from the development studio themselves: “We’re looking forward to celebrating a year of incredible games at #TheGameAwards this Thursday, however, we won’t have anything new to share from The Last of Us Part II. We’re hard at work and looking forward to revealing more when the time is right!”

In lighter news, Naughty Dog and PlayStation have released a two-year anniversary video for The Last of Us Part II. That sounds confusing considering that the game hasn’t been released yet, but the video in mention is a compilation of the internet’s reactions to the initial reveal of the long-awaited sequel during PlayStation Experience back in 2016.
While we won’t be seeing Ellie and Joel during the awards show, there will still be lots of announcements and reveals that are sure to blow our minds. We actually came up with a list of our most-hyped dream reveals which you can check out here. Also, Naughty Dog isn’t the only company not showing up at the ceremony as CD Projekt Red have announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be making an appearance.
