Fittingly called The Foundation Update, it will add the foundations of base building into the game, though currently no other details have been revealed on what else players can expect from the update. The post on the No Man’s Sky official site states that detailed patch notes will follow, though when this will be remains unclear.

The announcement also addresses the team’s near-silence during the turbulence that followed No Man’s Sky’s release. With a number of problems plaguing the title upon release, particularly on PC, as well as claims that Hello Games falsely advertised the game, No Man’s Sky went from being one of the most hotly anticipated titles of 2016 to one which left many fans disappointed.

Addressing this, the news post reads, “The discussion around No Man’s Sky since release has been intense and dramatic. We have been quiet, but we are listening and focusing on improving the game that our team loves and feels so passionately about.

Positive or negative feedback, you have been heard and that will truly help to make this a better game for everyone.”

We’ll be sure to keep you updated with further news on The Foundation Update as and when details become available.
