Activision has just released a new Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled trailer for the game’s villain Nitros Oxide. The video provides fans with their first look at the character in action racing against Crash.
Like the original game, Nitros Oxide is the main antagonist of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled’s adventure mode, but in the remaster fans will now be able to unlock him as a playable racer.
This can be done either through completion of the adventure mode or by purchasing the special Nitros Oxide Edition of the game. The Nitros Oxide Edition also comes with a Nitros Oxide character skin, Oxide’s Hovercraft kart, Star Crash character skin, Star Coco character skin, Star Cortex character skin, and some yet to be announced content.
Currently players can either pre-order this version of the game for $59.99 or the standard version of Nitro-Fueled for $39.99.
For those unfamiliar with Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, it is a remaster of the 1999 PS1 kart racing game Crash Team Racing. It was initially announced at the Game Awards last December following a number of rumors and leaks.
In addition to adding Nitros Oxide as a playable racer, the remaster is also adding in the ability to play the game online.
So far everything that has been shown off from the new game is quite promising. Activision and developer Beenox seem to be striking an excellent balance between making the game feel fresh and retaining the stylistic core that fans of the original game remember.
