Months ago, EA and DICE announced that Mirror’s Edge Catalyst would leave its February release date for May 23. Today, they’ve announced that Faith Connors’ next adventure on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC will be delayed two weeks to June 7.
The reason they delayed it is the Social Play aspect, which will be included in the upcoming Closed Beta. The features include creating your own time trials, taking on the ones created by the developers, and connecting with fellow players. As design director Erik Odeladahl explains it, they’re using a brand new online technology to support the features for Social Play. They want to make sure they’ve got the “opportunity and time to address player feedback from the Closed Beta…we’re confident these extra two weeks will make sure the game is as amazing as possible for you the players.”
The Beta still has a release date that’ll start tomorrow and run to next Tuesday, the 26th. Earlier this week, EA also revealed the PC requirements you’ll need to run Mirror’s Edge Catalyst.
