Nintendo has announced the release date for the upcoming 3DS game, Metroid Prime: Federation Force.
Federation Force is due to release on Aug. 19 in North America and September 2 in Europe. Confirmation of both of these release dates, however, came from two separate announcements. The North American, August 19 release date was revealed during a press release by Nintendo promoting its presence at PAX East, stating, “Also playable at the Nintendo booth is the Metroid Prime: Federation Force game,” it reads. “The sci-fi shooter that finds a squad of up to four players working together to combat space pirates launches exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on Aug. 19.”
The European release date for the game, on the other hand, was confirmed via the Nintendo of Europe Twitter account.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force will put multiple players into a group as they attempt to complete different objectives. The game will also include a Blast Ball game mode, a 3v3 competitive mode where the team who shoots the large ball into a goal, wins.
