It turns out the leaks from earlier today were spot on; Sony has revealed the PS Plus May lineup of ‘free’ games and they’re an exact match. What Remains of Edith Finch and Overcooked will be available for subscribers to download from May 7.
What Remains of Edith Finch is an absolute must-play for fans of story-driven adventure games, featuring brilliant writing and some very inventive game design. Overcooked, on the other hand, is an absolutely mad co-operative experience that’ll have you and your friends in both fits of laughter as you try to meet the demands of hungry restaurant goers by cooking up all manner of different recipes.
The lineup is an interesting one. Both are certainly top-tier, critically acclaimed games, but they’re also short and sweet experiences from indie studios. Ever since Sony dropped its support of its previous generation PS3 and PS Vita consoles, subscribers have perhaps been expecting a big name AAA game on the service. After all, Sony has taken four free games away without changing the price of PS Plus.
Whether the service is doing enough to justify its price we’ll leave for further discussion in our monthly PS Plus vs. Xbox Games with Gold comparison article. You can let us know what you think in the comments below.
Don’t forget that you can still grab April’s PS Plus games.
