Aside from Tom Brady crushing the nation’s hopes and dreams, one thing you can almost always count on during the Super Bowl is a look at the hottest upcoming movies. It’s no surprise that this year brought us a trailer for Avengers: Endgame, even if it was a short one.
The 30-second teaser trailer shows the remaining Avengers after Infinity War regrouping in the aftermath of Thanos wiping out half of the population. We see an empty Citi Field and a desolate New York skyline, showing an appropriately dour setting.
The visuals show hopelessness, even including a sign saying “Where do we go, now that they’re gone?” However, the voiceover is more hopeful, saying “Some people move on, but not us.”
We see shots of Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Ant Man, Rocket, Hawkeye and the rest of the surviving Avengers showing stern determination and appropriately dramatic facial expressions. No laughs to go around here. All business.
The first trailer for Avengers: Endgame came in December, showing us many faces we have known for many years, and several who might be playing these roles for the last time.
We didn’t get much in this trailer, but the movie isn’t far away. Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters April 26. In addition to the Avengers trailer, we also got a Captain Marvel trailer last night that you can watch here.
