Today, during Kadokawa Games’ Grand Festival 2019 hosted in Tokyo, the developer announced LoveR Kiss, an improved version of the love simulation LoveR.

The first difference with the original release is that LoveR Kiss will be released for both PSr and Nintendo Switch instead of being a PS4 exclusive.

The new version also adds a romance scenario dedicated to the teacher Himari Saiki, alongside the ability to take pictures of her.

Himari Saiki’s scenario features the “experimenting with love” theme, starring an older heroine wearing glasses.

Like the original game, LoveR features the direction and scenario by Ichiro Sugiyama (whom you may know for games like Reco Love, Photo Kano, and Kimikiss) and character design by Minoboshi Taro, known for the Love+ series, Root Letter, and God wars.

The Nintendo Switch version will feature tilt controls for the photo sessions that are a staple of the game. The same can be done with the DualShock 4 on PS4, also giving vocal instructions to the girl on the other side of the camera.

The release window of LoveR Kiss in Japan is set to the winter of this year.

The original LoveR was released by Kadokawa Games exclusively for PS4 in March 2018, and proved quite successful. If you want to learn more, you can enjoy our interview with Ichiro Sugiyama himself.

Incidentally, Overseas Business Developer, Juntaro Kohno told us during the same interview that the possibility of a western release for the game depended on the ability to launch the game without censorship.

Now that it’s coming for the Switch, there might be a better chance. Yet, we have no word about a western launch for LoveR Kiss for now, and we’ll have to wait and see if it comes down the line.

Incidentally, when I interviewed Sugiyama-san, I did ask him about the possibility of adding romance with Saiki-sensei. Looks like my wishes have been granted.
