League of Legends Star Guardian Jinx Splash Art

Star Guardian Lux is getting an entire team of magical heroes, as Riot revealed four new Star Guardian skins today. Jinx, Janna, Poppy, and Lulu have been chosen as defenders of the Light, and their selection seems to be hinting at some looming troubles for the League of Legends world.

“As a Star Guardian fades, their power is reborn in new protectors,” Riot’s lore page reads. “Star Guardians are chosen for their strength and resolve, but above all, they are chosen for their courage. It often signals a cataclysmic battle elsewhere in the universe when multiple Star Guardians are chosen to serve at once.”

The Guardians will now have to blend into their new planet, learning how to handle average life and high school (and each other). Part 3 of the Star Guardian lore suggests trouble with Jinx, and says a Star Guardian may also reject their fate, though their decision will “reverberate across the universe and beyond.”

Anyways, here are the splash arts:

Three of the Star Guardians come with their own familiar. Lulu will have good ol’ Pix, Jinx gets Shiro and Kuro (one for each gun), and Janna has a majestic cat-unicorn-fox-cloud named Zephyr. Watch them frolic below.

In other news, Riot announced today a League of Legends tabletop game called Mechs vs. Minions. Rumble, Tristana, Corki, Heimerdinger, and Ziggs must fight off growing hordes in unique Yordle vs. Minion challenges. The game will be a story-driven campaign for 2-4 players, and you can read up more on where to buy it here.
