As you can see in the tables below, Konami’s Digital Entertainment business (which includes games) performed very strongly with 36% higher revenue and 57.9% higher profit.

Unfortunately, every other segment of the business underperformed due to the closures related to the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in weaker overall performance with a drop year-on-year in overall revenue and profit for the company.

That being said, profit would have actually increased not counting the expenses incurred due to the pandemic.

We learn that Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links has led revenue for mobile games in the Digital Entertainment business and eFootball PES 2020 has surpassed 300 million downloads worldwide.

Professional Baseball Spirits A (Ace) has also continued to perform strongly.

Below you can check out the slates of titles released in the quarter alongside those in the pipeline. As usual, if you found said pipeline a bit barren, I certainly wouldn’t say you’re wrong.

If you want to compare, you can check out Konami’s results for the previous quarter, released in May.
