Today Koei Tecmo announced its financial results for the third quarter of the fiscal year 2020.
As you can see in the table below, the results for the quarter were extremely strong with considerable growth for the whole company and the entertainment business segment, which includes games.
Operating income was an overall record, and all figures also broke previous records for a third quarter of the fiscal year.
The lion’s share of revenue and income came, of course, from the gaming business.
We learn that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity shipped over 3.5 million units worldwide, meaning that it’s the best-selling Warriors game to date.
Nioh 2 sales have also been strong, shopping over 1.4 million units worldwide. This is 400,000 units more than the figure shared in May 2020, and 200,000 more compared to October.
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy that so far has been released only in Japan and Asia, shipped 220,000 copies, up from the 150,000 reported after its first week on the local shelves.
Lastly, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV: Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion shipped 100,000 units.
