Judgment for PS4 Gets New Video Starring the Protagonist’s English Voice Actor

Judgement, Project Judge

The upcoming Yakuza spin-off Judgment has been in the middle of a degree of controversy for a while, but now it’s time to get back to business as usual. Sega released a new video today.

The video features Greg Chun, who will lend his voice to protagonist Takayuki Yagami in the English track of the game. In fact, Judgment will come west with both the original Japanese voice acting and a full-fledged English one.

Chun talks about his experience working on the game, and we also get a sample of his acting in the game.

While personally, I’d never give up the authenticity of the Japanese track for a Yakuza game (which Judgment essentially is, despite the different protagonist and additional gameplay features), it’s nice to see Sega giving the game this kind of AAA treatment.

In Japanese, the voice is provided by popular actor and singer Takuya Kimura, whose likeness the character is based on.

If you want to see more of Judgment, you can check out the previous trailer, which showcases the new character model of villain Kyohei Hamura, who is at the center of the drama I mentioned at the beginning of the post.

Judgment is already available in Japan, and is coming west exclusively for PS4 on June 25.

That being said, Sega is considering PC and “other formats” down the line.
