Last night, IGN’s front page featured not one ad, but two, that revealed the release date for Overwatch. According to the ad, the game will launch May 24 and will be proceeded by an open beta that can be accessed early for all that pre-order the game. Early access for the open beta will be available on May 3rd.

The advertisement was released soon after it was discovered, but not before users on NeoGAF scooped up the screenshot that can be seen below.

The first-person shooter being developed by Blizzard Entertainment is a multiplayer-centric title that focuses on cooperative gameplay. Players will use a variety of heroes, each with differing skill-sets, in a 6-on-6 battle.

So far, three game modes have been revealed: Control, Payload, and Point Capture. In Control, players attempt to maintain control of an area on the map. Payload is an escort-style game mode where one team defends a truck from one point of the map to the other while the other team attempts to destroy it. In Point Capture, one team defends a group of points on the map while the other team attempts to take them.

Overwatch launched a closed beta in North America and Europe on October 27, 2015, and was previously expected to launch sometime in the first or second quarter of 2016.
