If you follow Kadokawa Games, you’re possibly familiar with the mobile game Starly Girls: Episode Starsia. The developer announced that it’s coming back in a different form.
Kadokawa Games announced “Hoshimusu Allstars,” a new mobile game that will include the girls from the original title in an all-new JRPG form for iOS and Android.
We have no release window for now, but the game is produced and directed directly by Kadokawa Games president Yoshimi Yasuda at the helm of the newly named internal development team Hoshimusu Studio.
Incidentally “Hoshimusu” is simply an abbreviation of “Hoshi Musume” which translates as “Star Girls” in Japanese.
Player will play the role of the captain of the super-gravity starship Asterism. They will discover and befriend the star girls and their mecha (named G-Gear) scattered across the universe.
As they play the game, they will enjoy the world view of the Hosimusu franchise while uncovering the secrets of the Star Girls and enjoying episodes deepening their relationships.
Below you can check out the announcement video, and a few illustrations that will prove familiar to Starly Girls fans. A feedback survey has also been launched, but of course, it’s all in Japanese.
Do keep in mind that this is a separate project from Project Stella for consoles, which is still in development and will likely be further revealed soon enough.
If you’re unfamiliar with Starly Girls: Episode Starsia, it’s a mobile game launched at the end of 2016 in Japan, Taiwan, and China, and closed in 2018. It featured a healthy mix of waifus and mechas and it starred many popular voice actresses, attracting over a million players.
It was never released in the west, but Kadokawa Games is much keener to push into the western marked today than it was back then, so you never know.
