IO Interactive has today pledged to continue its support of Hitman III, the stealth-action sequel launched to critical acclaim earlier this year. A video today offers a brief overview of some of what’s to come, which includes PC ray-tracing, VR support for PC, and new elusive targets coming January, while new maps, storylines, and game modes will be delivered throughout the year.
Notably, IO Interactive’s Hakan Abrak introduced today’s trailer by revealing that the modern Hitman III trilogy has been played by 50 million, an impressive milestone instead. You can check out the video sequence for yourself below.
Twinfinite reviewed Hitman III earlier this year and was thoroughly impressed, scoring the game 4/5 and concluding:
“Without straying far from the successful sandbox formula, it’s an excellent final part of IO’s trilogy. While the increased freedom and level variety won’t be for everyone, Hitman 3 boasts some of the best locations and stories the series has ever seen, and there’s so much to uncover in each and every one of them.”
Following its successful launch, IO Interactive has since stated that Hitman will be “taking a break,” presumably meaning that there’s no plans for a fourth game anytime soon.
